We do the same. I have never even been in one of the laundry rooms. Saw the same situation once where this one group was in there all day doing laundry. Was the same group that was arguing in the hallway about $10. I just shook my head.
We were spending the week after our Alaskan cruise with in-laws in Seattle. I packed one suitcase with "Seattle clothes" which I left at the in-laws while we were cruising. The problem was that I packed all of our underwear in the Seattle suitcase. I did spend time in the passenger laudramat. . . It wasn't like we could spend the week in our swimsuits! Lesson learned....
Since this post of yours is titlted "idots on cruise ships", you should check-out my post titled "new sleeping arrangements for one cruise ship passenger". It is further down the list here in General Cruise Chat.
Unfortunately, yes, I've run into many. The ones that let their children jump up and down on the sofas, climb in the curtains, and the ones that act like there's no one else on the ship but them. The smokers that are inconsiderate (I do smoke, but am trying to quit). And the ones that want to show off their bodies (who shouldn't) especially at the buffet (nothing better than a big old hairy beer belly to whet your appetite). But as with every day life, you just go somewhere else.
Sorry guys... It was all my fault. I had a little too much to drink and, upon returning to my stateroom, I ordered room service. I told them that I wanted the bread toasted!! Well, it wasn't. So, I stumbled down to the laundry room, turned on the iron, and placed it on top of my bread. The rest is history... Good sandwich, though.
