Looking for info on Alaskan Cruises

We would LOVE to do an Alaskan cruise sometime in the next 2 years but we know nothing about them. Some questions we have (but are not limited to)
1) Which cruise line do you recommend
2) What month of the year (I have heard June July and August are the best)
3) Any itinerary better than others?

Any other info you can give on Alaskan cruises would be GREATLY appreciated!

I have taken 2 Alaska cruises on Holland America, one on the Oosterdam and one on the Ryndam. The first cruise covered the ports of Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau and Victoria, BC. We sailed round trip out of Seattle. This year we sailed one way out of Vancouver, BC and hit Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay and College Fjords. I enjoyed that one better because we got to see a lot of glaciers caving (chunks of ice falling off). We also took the train over the Whitepass into the Yukon out of Skagway. I would also recommend taking the north or southbound tour including the land tour as you get to spend time in Denali State Park and ride the Train from Fairbanks to Anchorage.
