I was putting together a top ten list of the largest cruise ships in the world, but so far I have only the first three:
#1 Freedom of the Seas, RC
#2 Queen Mary 2, Cunard
#3 The four Voyager Class ships of RC : Adventure,Mariner,Navigator and Voyager; of the Seas
#4 ?
#5 ?
#6 ?
#7 ?
#8 ?
#9 ?
#10 ?
Actually there are five Voyager class vessels. You forgot the Explorer Of The Seas.
Then look at the Grand Class ships of Princess (Grand P, Golden P, Caribbean P, etc.) and the larger Carnival ships of the Destiny class and her bretheren for the remaining spots.
Hi Frase,
look at Raouls "Ruderhaus"-webpages. There you will find a list of the TOP 20 Cruise ships,
- ba lenght
- by tonnage
- by passanger capacity
Regards
Uwe http://www.ruderhaus.de/frames.htm
this is the English section of my web site which also includes the three lists Uwe already mentioned.
Currently, the ten largest cruise ships in terms of tonnage (which is the "official" size indicator) are:
#1 "Freedom of the Seas"
#2 "Queen Mary 2"
#3 "Navigator of the Seas"
#4 "Mariner of the Seas"
#5 "Explorer of the Seas"
#6 "Voyager of the Seas"
#7 "Adventure of the Seas"
#8 "Diamond Princess"
#9 "Sapphire Princess"
#10 "Costa Concordia"
Some ships' tonnage is identical. In that case, the earlier ship receives the higher ranking.
Wow, I'm surprised that the CCL Conquest didn't make the top ten. I would have thought that 114,000 gtons would have been enough. It just shows how big the ships are getting. Pretty soon half of these won't make the cut..
