We're going to Nassau in April; do we need to bring our passports with us off the ship? If so, what's the best way to keep it safe (as well as money)? thx!

You don't need your passport off the ship in Nassau. Just keep it locked up in the ship's safe. All you'll need is your sail and sign card, which will have your photo electronically on it. If you were going to a port where you needed your passport with you, Russia for example, you can buy a passport holder that you put around your neck, and stick in bra for women, or put under your undershirt for men. You can tighten the cord to make it secure. Should be sold in luggage department that sells travel access ories.

You did not say what cruise line, RCL does not put photo on room card... before you leave the ship they will advise you to have some photo ID to go along with room card... Driver Lic will do..

The photos do not appear directly on your room card, but are generated onto a computer. When you leave or board the ship, the card will bring up your picture to match with what you look like. If there's a question, that's where the driver's license will come in. Believe me, we've seen it happen to a man in front of us. We were very uneasy with the whole thing, as he had (2) different room cards with different names, neither of which was his. Hopefully he never got on the ship. Security will be tighter now that we are in heightened alert.
