To the Canadians who have travelled on cruise ships, do you let them do the conversion on your credit card at their rate or do you opt out and have your credit card company do the conversion? My credit card company charges a 2.2% fee for conversion. Anyone know what Royal Caribean charges?

Read the fine print carefully on the conversion. Don't know that you'll have a choice. They should charge you US currency, and then your bank will convert it. There's a bank charge, and then there's an additional Visa/Master Card charge. I used a Visa in Stockholm to buy and ship crystal. I was floored when I got the bill. The very fine print in the agreement and on the back of the bill does state this. My discount of 5% was offset by the exchange charges. Maybe some of our Canadian friends can give you a better line on this. Have a great time, dispite the conversion. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif
