There are no "cheapest" balconies in Alaska.

But the least expensive are probably on NCL or Carnival.

The balconys are not cheap, but for Alaska they are worth the money. We spent hours each night just sitting ot there watching the scenery. We usually get inside cabins, but not up there.

Have a great time.

Actually, you would be surprised to find that balcony's can be very affordable even on premium cruise lines. Supply and demand on any given ship will determine the price. Take these two ships sailing in Alaska. Island Princess has a total of 727 cabins with balcony's; Carnival Spirit has 616. The demand for balcony's on the Spirit very well could drive the cost up higher than a balcony on the Island Princess. Of Course; as always, how far in advance you are booking, and the availability at time of booking will drive the price.

I think you'll find HAL has probably the best last minute promotions on balconies. They move almost their entire fleet to Alaska and if they have dificulty filling all those cabins they frequently run what are termed "SWAT" rates. They are short term promotions to catch up on bookings if they fear a ship or category won't fill before the sailing date. Be aware that there are very few balcony cabins or any cabins remaining for this season. Also there are often really good early booking promotions that arise for next season. Some lines have released rates and some will soon for next season.

f-mattox is right, there are no truly cheep ones to Alaska. They are in great demand there.

Cheers, Neil
