I will be taking a few friends on a cruise from my best friends 30th birthday in December. I have never been on a cruise and need some help finding the right cruise so that my friends and I can have a great time. We are NYers, all in our late 20's early 30's, no kids and like to relax, drink and have a good time. My best friend lost his mother last month when we previously planned a group vacation, but was unable to attend, so our goal in this is to have a vacation to remember. We will be leaving out of MIA and would like something for 3-4 nights. Any advise or guidence would be very welcome! Thank you in advance!
Welcome and sorry for your friends loss. Given you have decided on a 3-4 night cruise out of Miami you already have narrowed it down to the Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas, Norwegian Sky, or Carnival Destiny or Carnival Imagination. Of these the Carnival ships will have the largest square footage of cabins. Even then, I probably would only do two to a cabin for space, bathroom facility, and comfort. Their itineraries vary slightly. Royal Caribbean and Norwegian each have private islands they visit. The three nights will only do Bahamas. The four night Carnival will visit Key West and Cozumel Mexico,. Check each itinerary and see which is more desirable to you and your friends. All of them will have similar entertainment and food good on all.
I think the four night to Key West and Cozumel would fit what you're looking for best. Definitely plenty of places to drink and have fun. Nothing against the Bahamas, in fact I am heading there in a few weeks. The Bahamas just don't offer as much fun as Key West and Cozumel does. That's just my opinion though from being to both more times than I can count.
I definitely agree with Dwayne about going taking the four day trip to Key West and Cozumel. Considering the demographic make-up of your group, it sounds like you guys could have a rip roaring time in Key West and Cozumel is beautiful as well.
Either way, you will have an awesome time. Don't be afraid to post any other questions as there are lots of great folks on here with answers to virtually every question.
Hi antoinette123, welcome to CruiseReviews! I agree with Dwayne and Brad on the itinerary. One: it's a 4 day, two: Key West and Cozumel are great ports, three: you'll definitely have fun. The Bahamas are great, too, but Key West and Cozumel offer more options for adults. The Bahamas do have adult activities, but have many more family oriented attractions.
I'm sorry for your friend's loss, too. Maybe the cruise can ease the pain some. No matter which cruise ship you select, you will have a wonderful experience. Please let us know when you've decided.
I agree too with most of the posts here. Cozumel is a great port and you will enjoy Key West too. I do not want to start a debate over which cruise line is better than the other because it is all personal preference but I would go with Royal Caribbean.
