single supplement

Hi everyone,

Quick question, can anyone tell me if there is a single supplement as there will be three of us travelling now instead of the two of us so we will need an extra cabin.

Which cruise line? Carnival was one of the few left that did this, and they have changed it to 200% recently. Another option is to change to a cabin that has three berths (beds) or a single sleeper sofa. I'll leave this to one of our seasoned TA members to answer better that are knowledgeable about all cruise lines.

It looks like you were looking at either Royal Caribbean or Princess, and both of them charge 200% of the cruise fare for a single. Most cruise lines do charge between 150%-200%. The new NCL Epic has 128 cabins specifically for solo cruisers. It would be more economical if your extra person could sail in the same cabin with you as a triple.

Sorry cant share with the third as its my elderly father who hardly ever sleeps - he is always up at the crack of dawn which is why he needs to have his own cabin.

Sorry, sweetsheila, your dad will be paying for 2. Some lines will run specials on certain cruises, but most charge 150%-200% as Cruise Fanatic stated. It might not be as bad as you think, if your dad is ambulatory. He could always get up and go out on deck. I do that all the time. I go up to the Lido deck, get my morning ice tea or coffee. Then go walk a mile, come back and bring coffee back for my hubby. He sleeps through the whole time I'm gone, which is usually a couple of hours. You might want to consider a room for 3.
