We are going to fly to Orlando two days befor our cruise so on the Thursday. Friday were going to Disney world for my hubbies birthday. My question is, because we had to do flight and hotel seperate, I now need to find the best way to get around. We are staying at the Radisson resort near Disney world. So we have to get from the airport to the hotel on thursday, and from the hotel(Disney world) to Port canaveral on Saturday. Should we take a taxi around or rent a car. They do not offer shuttle from airport to hotel or hotel to the pier.
That's a close call. You are going to have to call a rental company and price it out. The major car rental companies all have offices in Port Canaveral and office shuttle service to the port. One way rental is pretty reasonable since so many cruisers rent that they don't have a problem moving the cars back and forth. So, the question becomes is it still cost effective to have a car 3 days over two taxi rides. The airport to the hotel in Orlando is a taxi. But the hotel to the port is a different beast.

ive been to disney many many times you best bet is to rent a car because you are going to want to take I4 over to highway 192 and visit kissimee there is so much to look at and do and EAT.dont forget old town at night. your hotel should provide a shuttle to the park and back daily.(call them to check) to the port i dont know.i would see what car rental company had an office at the port. or enterprise picks you up haha!! good luck nad happy crusing
It's about a 45 minute drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral. The car rentals provide free shuttle service to the ships. I always rent a car—it's just so much more convenient.
Most Disney area hotels will help you book a shuttle to the pier and then arrange a pickup at the end of your cruise. Also, if you drive to Orlando, most hotels will let you park you car on their property while you are on your cruise, provided you stayed with them prior or after your cruise, that is. This can be cheaper than paying the tolls and paying for several days of parking at the pier. The shuttle price will include the tolls. Among the most popular is the "Super Shuttle" which you can book online or call them to book the service.
