Cool Too many mouths to feed - SOS!
I'm planning a cruise for August 2014 with my husband, daughter and her husband and 2 kids under 10, seventeen yr old daughter and friend and 24 year old son. We usually go with Carnival for the best pricing and family activities. We were looking at the Carnival Dream but found out that the only adjoining rooms are ocean view which would really up the price. We're looking at 3 to 4 cabins. We live in Virginia and like to go out of ports that are within driving distance. Port Canaveral is 11 hrs. and that's about our max distance. Unfortunately, cost is a factor. Any suggestions as to the best way do this without breaking the bank? Thanks

Have you checked the Dream's ocean view cabins that accommodate 5 people?
They have an extra tub and sink.

Is having adjoining cabins a must? In my experience, there really aren't that many on any given ship and they fill up extremely quickly, so unless you book really early, you won't find any that are reasonable.

My family (myself, wife and three children) have sailed together many times with numerous room combinations and have never had adjoining staterooms because they were never available. You can, however usually find the right number of staterooms within a few feet of each other.

Anyway, good luck!

Brad

You could look at cruises sailing from Baltimore and the New York area as well. The Carnival Glory has October 2013 cruises out of Norfolk, and perhaps will repeat them in 2014. If you have flexibility in cruise dates, that may help.
