can I take my knitting on the airlines?
|
According to the TSA website: Knitting needles are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage.
Items needed to pursue a Needlepoint project are permitted in your carry-on baggage or checked baggage with the exception of circular thread cutters or any cutter with a blade contained inside which cannot go through the checkpoint and must go in your checked baggage. The website is www.tsa.gov |
Thanks so much. Couldn't imagine a long flight without the needles!

I know they are listed as permitted, but it depends on the person at security. My friend had hers taken away from her on the return trip home from Fort Lauderdale by the US security. My best advise is to pack these in your checked baggage. It's very hit and miss what you can take in your carry-on. This is why we only put our personal medication in our carry-on. Everything else goes into our check baggage. We even put our dietetic blood test needles in our check baggage.
