Lawsuit results in cruisers paying Princess for their legal bills

About 4 years ago a Princess ship had a sharp turn which was eventually attributed to improper actions by a bridge officer. Two years after the fact - and despite being told by Princess that they had a 1 year limit to file a lawsuit - a family filed suit in California. They were a year out of date. They appealed it using a variety of excuses. The Appellate Court recently not only rejected the appeal as frivolous, they also sanctioned the cruisers by requiring them to pay over $6000 to Princess Cruises to compensate the cruise line for their legal costs.

So be warned - read the cruise contract before you sue.

That's too bad. They might have had a chance if they had played by the rules, seeing it was attributed to an officer; but they didn't and it cost them. I have to say "good"; and I'm pleasantly surprised that an Appellate Court out here actually made a just decision--very rare.

So it took them two years to figure out their were injured??? I am glad it was thrown out and they have to pay the legal fees.
