Given the choices you offered - I am a Royal Caribbean fan, so it gets my vote for overall best value/quality product for the money. Of course, cruising is a totally subjective experience, so there are bound to be a variety of opinions. Carnival, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and Princess are all pretty competitively priced (Princess tends to be on the higher end), but I think Disney is way over-priced and can't be compared to the others.
Just to add confusion to your decision, I am a true Royal Caribbean fan. We are doing our 5th cruise on RCI on May 2. It will be my first RCI cruise since 9/11 so it will be interesting to see changes. I have done Princess, Carnival, and NCL. I think that Princess was great. We also had a great time on Carnival. Not crazy about NCL. RCI and Princess are a "cut above" Carnival but Carnival was much better than I expected. If price is a real consideration, and it is your first cruise, then I think you will truly enjoy any of them. Check the review section of www.cruiseclues.com and also the photoclub section to see how people feel about the ships you are considering and look at great photos. However take the reviews with a MAJOR grain of salt. Usually the negative ones are very inaccurate. Good luck. You will have a great time no matter which line. Oh, Disney is very expensive but if you have kids and can afford it, eveyone who has ever done it loves it. No casino though.
I am about to go on a Celebrity cruise at end of April . Have taken three others on Princess . Did enjoy Princess but have not had any to compare it to . The Personal choice dining is real nice . You show up anytime for dinner or any meal . You ask for a table and let them know if you will share . Fun way to meet people . If you want a table for two ..fine . Unless you go right at 7:15 for dinner you usually get seated in less tha 5 min. We have always booked through cruise@cruiseadventure.com They have beat any price anywhere by a few bucks . Tell them Pedroli in Sonoma Ca. sent you . Good Luck .
First off it depends on how you are? Who you are bringing... for example... if you have a family, mom, dad, teen, kid... I would say Carnival... Carnival has the best kids program... if you are mom and teen... I would say probably RCCL... If you are over 45 and it is just you and a wife... then princess would be very nice...NCL is okay, and Disney is an unforgettable experience... expensive but worth it. So it all depends on what kind of person you are.
I don't think you can go wrong on any of them. Now if you asked, Which is better? A trip to Vegas, or a cruise on a major cruise line, then it woulkd be an easy answer (unless you are a hard core gambler).
I have cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Celebrity, Princess. Many times.
I have also used several travel agents over the years. Some were OK and some were really bad. This last January I found an agent with the best website and information I have ever used. I would recommend that anyone going on a cruise use this agent. Her name is Jo Ann and she can be reached at: www.Cruise-N-Style.com
I guarantee that you will get the best price and the best information. She is very friendly also. The website even has a PHOTO GALLERY OF CRUISE SHIPS AND PORTS.
I believe that I would recommend Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. They have the best food, service, and activities.
Any of the newer ships are wonderful!!! No matter what cruise line you go on.
I personally think Carnival and RCI is a tie. Carnival is just a tad cheaper and better for kids. RCI is a little more expensive, but has better ships than Carival, and has an OK kids program. I've had a couple of bad experiences on Disney and Norwegian, and they're pretty expensive, and(in my opinion)not worth the money. I have heard great things about Princess, and I have heard that it is well worth the price. But, since I have never traveled on princess(because of the price)Iwouldnt really know.
