Arrival at terminal & departure from terminal

How much time before departure should I arrive at the terminal (I'm thinking Ft Lauderdale or Miami). Also, if the ship docks (returns) at
8 am, when is it safe to schedule a flight back home? Is four hours later safe? Thanks!

If the ship departs between 4 and 6 pm, I can usually get onboard about noon in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. As for flight home, my experience has been that you should be relatively safe with a noon or later flight.

I agree with Suzi. Most cruise lines allow boarding to start 11am or 12.
Disembarkation usually starts by 8am, so 12pm flights are safe. Earlier CAN be done, but, not without hassles...........

Remember to allow enough time before your return flight for check-in and security. You need to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight leaves, and on Saturday and Sunday, the Miami and Ft Lauderdale airports can be quite packed with cruise passengers! I'd add another hour or two to Sunprincess' recommendation, just to be on the safe side.
