Ryanair is also the line that brought up having "stand up" space in lieu of seats. All I know is it'd be a cold day in Manila before I'd fly with them.

Peterl, I looked to see if we could take the train from Huntsville to Ft. Lauderdale. Well, you can't. We'd have to go to Birmingham, which is not a big deal, BUT....it takes 49 hours and 51 minutes from Birmingham. You have to go to Washington, DC, then switch trains and then go to Ft. Lauderdale. Looks like I'll be driving.

Ryanair's reasoning for charging for the bathroom is truly amazing to me. Don't know how you can cram anymore people on board it's already cramped. Ala carte pricing, is that the wave of the future?

The worst air disaster (I think) was the Japan Airlines 747, they crammed 524 passengers into the plane it is usual for only 416 (according to Wikipedia). Passenger space ratio does not apply to planes it seems.

I've been in a tight squeeze at a Japanese public restroom, with a line of men and women all heading in at the same time to the same toilets and urinals. I'll leave it at that. The memory still traumatizes me.
