I think it was about a year and a half ago that a passenger fell overboard in the caribbean. He said that the last thing he remembered was being on a upper deck having some drinks and talking to some young lady that he met. When he "woke" about 17 hours later he was floating in the water. Some how he was rescued. I thought he would have been on many talk show and etc. Never heard any more about this. I think the story was a hoax. Does anyone else remember this? What was the real story?

People have fallen off cruise ships in the past and I am sure will do so again in the future. The one you are talking about was on one of the shows on the Health Channel recently when they did one of the shows on surviving. I did not watch the whole show so I didn't really find out what is going on but it was on recently.

Thanks PEB. I was on a cruise the week after it happened. The story of falling at least 50 feet and floating in the ocean while being unconscious for 17 hours seemed a little far fetched. I think it was a set up and the whole thing was staged so he could get some bookings on the talk show circuit. I am thinking that the hoax was uncovered and the whole thing backfired.
