I've sailed on both. Emerald Princess, hands down, was my favorite. For my taste, much prettier ship, much more to offer, better service, much better food, more storage space in the cabin. That's just my opinion.
That's very interesting, Penny; I have been curious about the new generation of Clelbrity ships, never having sailed on Celebrity. But knowing that our tastes are very similar, I may just have to stay curious.
It's too subjective to choose. I think once you go on one brand numerous times you sort of get stuck on that brand. It makes it harder to be objective with another. It's the same for cars, motorcycles, or anything that we become brand loyal to.
Yes, I'm stuck too on anything with the name cruise, ocean cruise, river cruise, or anything Ireland, or just plain anything Travel. "The world is a book and those who do not travel only read a page."...St Augustine.
Had to choose today...I chose Princesss...Emerald over Celebrity...Soltice...which would you choose?
It's not really a fair question, because the "right" choice for me may not be the same "right" choice for you.
Both ships are gorgeous, and both cruise lines will provide an excellent cruise. If you're a first time cruiser, you'll love either one and will get hooked on cruising.
If you've cruised a few times, there are some differences between the two cruise lines and the two ships that may make one appeal to what your preferences are, more than the other.
I don't think there is a bad choice or a wrong choice. You'll love your cruise.
It seems to get a sofa on Princess you need to be in a Mini Suite, but not on Celebrity. Not sure if the Mini-suite would be the same price as a CC room on Celebrity but gee I have to have a sofa...I want to try Princess so it would have to be in a Mini Suite. I guess I have to compare the price it could be very close.
