We were on a short weekend cruise a couple of weeks back on the Norwegian Sky, and about 3 hours after we get on the ship, I hear the Celine Dion song, "My Heart Will Go On" playing overhead!!

The very next day, I hear, "There's Got To Be A Morning After" overhead!
What are these people thinking??

That's kind of like having "United 93" as the in-flight movie.

Someone on Norwegian Sky staff has quite a sense of humor.

On the Song Of America in 1993 they opened the welcome aboard show with "The Love Boat". I guess the CD thought it was amusing (and this was legendary CD Ray Rouse, then the senior CD for Royal Caribbean). At least it wasn't a disaster movie theme.

Now that's funny; I wonder how many had a moment of panic when they wondered if they were actually on the wrong ship.

I was not alone in looking around at others with a "what the heck is going on" look on my face. In retrospect it would have been funny if the CD's first remarks were "welcome aboard the Crown Princess", which I think was in port with us. It was either the Crown or Regal.

Considering this song is from the movie "Titanic", I don't think it's a really good choice.

I do love the Love Boat theme so I would be happy with that.

Why not ?
... the orchestra, and the crew, and the boy and the girl, they all lived happily together ever after, didn't they ?

It's better than one cruise we were on. We were on the Sea Princess for a 10 day Christmas cruise. They kept playing this stupid song "Snow, how I love snow, where would we be if there were no snow". At that time we lived in Colorado. I wanted to scream. If I wanted snow, I would have stayed home, I hate snow.

I do love Costa, though, when you leave a port, they play Dean Martin's "That's Amore". It's such a happy song!

Macmom111, I saw Jaws when I was still living in Florida. I was swimming in a rock pit and was treading water. That song starting running through my head and I had to get out of the water.
