We were on a short weekend cruise a couple of weeks back on the Norwegian Sky, and about 3 hours after we get on the ship, I hear the Celine Dion song, "My Heart Will Go On" playing overhead!!
The very next day, I hear, "There's Got To Be A Morning After" overhead!
What are these people thinking??

On the Song Of America in 1993 they opened the welcome aboard show with "The Love Boat". I guess the CD thought it was amusing (and this was legendary CD Ray Rouse, then the senior CD for Royal Caribbean). At least it wasn't a disaster movie theme.
I was not alone in looking around at others with a "what the heck is going on" look on my face. In retrospect it would have been funny if the CD's first remarks were "welcome aboard the Crown Princess", which I think was in port with us. It was either the Crown or Regal.
It's better than one cruise we were on. We were on the Sea Princess for a 10 day Christmas cruise. They kept playing this stupid song "Snow, how I love snow, where would we be if there were no snow". At that time we lived in Colorado. I wanted to scream. If I wanted snow, I would have stayed home, I hate snow.
I do love Costa, though, when you leave a port, they play Dean Martin's "That's Amore". It's such a happy song!
