Countdown clocks and tickers are popular on all the internet forums and we are no exception. However due diligence must be taken when considering whether to use a countdown. I was recently burglarized, and while it was not during a cruise it gave me pause to consider how much information I am possibly giving to thieves. If someone wants they can come here (or any other website) and see when you are not going to be home via your cruise ticker. It is something to consider.

I never thought of that Dave. But I'm not sure how easy it would be for someone to figure out my home address in order to make that work for them. Maybe I will change mine... better safe that sorry.

I still say if anyone burglarized us, they'd end up leaving us stuff. Everything we have is ancient. Actually, the only thing valuable are the mutts we have, at least to me. They're just strays, but no one would want them. They're not trained, eat like horses, and make huge messes out of everything. But to me, they're priceless.
When we came home from our Hawaiian cruise, we found the screen off the front window and the window open.... We had the tweenie neighbor watching the house and feeding/cleaning the cat while we were gone. When we asked her about the window, she said that it was like that the first day, and saw the cat using the window to go in and out . . . she assumed we left it that way for his pleasure... We didn't find anything missing; the 6 foot fence probably helped.
