Continental and United Airlines May Merge

This is far from a done deal, but Continental and United may merge, operating under the United name if this goes through. Here is an article. This actually may affect me if it goes through, as right now, my local airport is a hub for Continental Airlines.

Well, it looks like both boards agreed to it, and the official announcement, as Sandy stated, will come tomorrow. Here is an updated link.

There's now a website for information on this merger, located here. Hopefully this sheds some light on any confusion. My dad thought they (Continental) may be dropping their Newark hub, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

They have "merged" and I was waiting to purchase our flights to Acapulco (Panama Canal Cruise) Continental was the only airlines with one stop and the cheapest. The day they merged that particular flight was no longer available! Ugh.
