Well, they could lower fares, then start piling on fees, that way it would be the original cruise fare

If they lowered cost of cruise and added back fees then travel agents would be hurt further.

It means that the cruise industry will begin purchasing hybrid cruise ships built by Toyota so that they will convert to solar/battery power within the 200 mile zone - additional exercise bycycles will be hooked up to generators in the Spas/workout areas and the bilge mice will have rotating cages hooked up to tiny alternators! Promenade decks will be replaced by treadmills to further enhance a new, more healthy lifestyle!!

Cruise costs will remain the same on the new 12500 passenger ships!

Well they've already predicted a ship will be built the length from Florida to Bahamas; so it won't even have to move.

If they keep piling up charges they are gone make cruising so unavailable for the common people that they are gona feel in same way of Ford motor Company...go ahead jump the shark

CF, I think the cruise lines have already hurt the agents enough. Cas, you're right, they'll keep piling them on and lose their customers. People are being hit right and left, more taxes, higher fuel costs, higher food costs, but no raises, jobs or help.

If only these ships were US Registered, they could probably qualify for a "Cash for Clunker Ships" rebate to help the cruise lines avoid having to pass the charges along to the customers ! Did I hear about this being an item on the agenda?
