Hi! Just wondering...what happens if you are caught trying to "sneak" in a few beers or vodka or something hidden cleverly in your bags? Do they just take it away or are you denied boarding? If the second, it is definitely not worth it. If anybody knows the answer, I appreciate it -- thanks! http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo.../icon_cool.gif

They can do both. We adhere to the posted rules from the cruise lines on this subject, therefore, before this gets out of hand, I'm closing the post.

The rules allow the ship's security force wide latitude. As a minimum there is the public embarrassment of being caught, or being summoned to the "naughty room" where your luggage has been quarantined and you are required to open it in front of security. They can confiscate it, hold it until the end of the cruise, or if they think someone is being too clever they can refuse to let you take the cruise.

As Penny said - the forum policy is to support the cruise line rules and not condone sneaking booze aboard. I've allowed another thread on this topic to remain open so long as it doesn't digress into a discussion of smuggling techniques. You can see it HERE
