We are doing our first cruise Los Angeles to Hawaii over xmas and new year on board the Golden Princess, husband, myself and 11 year old daughter. I'm really unsure whether to go first sitting fixed dining or anytime - not sure how the two options compare. Any idea if this time of year is popular with families? Any useful suggestion re what to wear, etc any help would be appreciated - thanks

Set dining _ you are given a specific time , table, same table mates every night, same wait staff. You need to be there at the appointed time.

Anytime- you can show up anytime you want within the dining room hours, you will not have the same tablemates every night (meet new people) different waitstaff every night, different table every night ( you can choose to sit at different sized table as the mood strikes) Good if you want to stay onshore longer

Hi CNR, Welcome to Cruise-Chat!

Congratulations on your first cruise. Any time school is out is popular with families.

I realize you are excited and have a lot of questions. Please only post one discussion topic per question though. This way other members can search and benefit from the topic more easily. It also helps to avoid confusion with replies.

Congrats and Welcome Aboard,

Dwayne
