Well...better to know now Sunshine. You can work around it. Just pray for rain rain rain rain. We sure do need it.
I hope things go well, but it might be time to make sure you have a contingency plan - Just in case

What do you have in mind as a good way to get around it? Isn't 75 my only option?

Yes - 95 is an option. That is what it is looking like for me. I have to drive Northeast to catch I-95 and drive south from there to get to Jax instead of just driving straight east
More time on the road, less time on the beach.

PS - Did you ever find a hotel to stay at?

I did. We are staying at the holiday inn right beside the port in jacksonville...probably gonna check in and drive down to the beach and have some dinner or something then rest up for the big day Saturday...

Sunshine - One recommendation. If you want to try a great restaurant try The Chart House. Reservations are needed. White tablecloth and runs about $40.00 pp, but it is wonderful. Not much from the outside (looks like it originated in the 60's and they never changed), but the inside is great and tons of water views. Service is wonderful.
If all else fails - Joe's Crab Shack on the best is great too!
I am so jealous - have a fantastic time

Florida has been getting a lot of rain this week. I believe by Fri it should be fine. Also the road (I-95) is closer to the ocean and they have less smoke that interior roads, due to the ocean breezes. In So. FL we had a lot of smoke but with 2 days of rain it's looking back to normal.

I gotta tell ya, I have been smelling smoke for about 12 hours now and am tired of it! It's like a campfire that won't go away. Our winds are supposed to shift overnight.
