Does anyone live in Florida? I am driving to Jacksonville on Friday for my cruise and wondered if I'm gonna be able to make it due to the fires there. Hope any of you living there are safe and sound!

I live in central Florida around some of the fires.Yesterday (Sunday) parts of I-75 near the Florida-Georgia line and 40 mile stretch of I-10 where closed because of smoke also last week parts of I-95 where closed for a time. I guess you may want to allow plenty of time just in case or maybe you could check for closures with the FLorida highway patrol. Not much rain is in the forcast for this week so conditions will likely stay the same. Have a great cruise!

Hi sunshine- I am driving to Jax on Saturday. I hope not to get detoured. Just check the way before you leave. I have heard some parts of 10 and 75 are closed.
I am all the way to the southwest and we are getting the smoke.
Have a great time

I would imagine your could check the Georgia - Florida State Patrol.
Check the News Stations online as well.
That would be my guess.
I sure hope it doesn't hold you up. My theater tickets are not as important as you getting on that ship!

The smoke from those fires has actually made it to north Alabama. I was out mowing my vast estate's lawns this morning and kept smelling that burning odor. I noted the sky was smoky and thought we had a local fire. Not so. The National Weather Service confirmed it was from the fires in Georgia and Florida.

Sunshine.....you might want to consider checking flights on Southwest from Nashville to Jacksonville. They are usually very reasonable and would eliminate the risk of Interstate closures.
