Need ideas for excursions off the Sun

Hi all,

We are going on the NCL Sun in March and need to book our excursions. I would prefer to save money by not booking through ship if possible.

So far, I read that Belize is best for cave tubing, and that Reggie's is the place to go. But, my daughter will be 9 1/2 when we go, and they recommend age 10 and up. Any worries there?
In Roatan, I would like to go horseback riding. Any recommmendations?
Finally, I think snorkeling would be great in Cozumel and Stirrup Cay. Tabyana Beach looks great, but how do we get there? Should we bring our own snorkel equipment, or rent?

Any other suggestions for us? My kids already swam with dolphins, so we don't need a repeat of that.

Hi MamaofEnS, welcome to Cruise-Chat. There is great snorkeling in Belize as well. I would highly recommend bringing your own mask/snorkel since you know they fit. You can always use the tour's fins. The price for the excursions include the gear, but if you have your own, they don't give you a discount. There is good snorkeling in Cozumel, my favorite place is Xel-ha. Chankanaab Park has some decent snorkeling, not as good as before the hurricane, but it is easy to get to. Stirrup Cay is the private island, so not much choice there. If you decide to do the tubing in Belize instead of the snorkeling, I don't think 9 1/2 will be a problem. Best wishes and once again, welcome aboard!
