Are there perks for Group Travel?

Just wondered if anyone could tell me what sort of discounts we could get for traveling with a group of at least 8 cabins and if there are any perks to doing this.
Are there things I should know to ask for when I call to book?

They have pretty much gone by the wayside. There used to be an additional discount for groups and you could also expect a TC (tour conductor) cabin, but unless you are looking at off season dates, there is not much motivation for the cruise lines to book groups.

That is the current situation as I understand it, but I could be wrong. Talk to your travel; agent to see what they think.

What you said was pretty much what the travel agent said. She said that if we got free perks she would pretty much have to pay for them out of her pocket. I appreciate your reply I guess I was just a little surprised that there was not more offered. Doesn't matter it will still be a BLAST to be together!

If you are flexible about dates and itinerary, there are still some perks out there. But as Tom mentioned, the best group incentives are offered off season. No matter when you sail, if you were to book 8 cabins minimum in most cases there would be at least one free berth given to the group which can be divided up amongst you (a bit of a savings anyway).

We are going the end of October, I thought that would be off season since it was hurricane season but the thing they have told us about is the one cabin.

Usually there are some incentives given for cruise travel in October, but often group space is requested well in advance. Depending on when you decided to book the group, the group space may have already been allotted and extra perks were no longer being offered. There are a lot of variables to the cruise group booking game and it is best to plan early and use a cruise specialist travel agent to help you "play the game" effectively.
