I have begun to ponder that question as of late. I wonder whether there is a best time of year for cruising in general.

I have been on only two cruises so far. Both of them were in Novemeber in the Caribbean. I chose November because:
- The prices seem to be cheaper then
- The hurricane season (usually) is finished by then (unlike last year)

However, I have discovered there are allot of cruises that occur in spring and early summer.

So, I wonder if the spring and early summer are better times of the year for taking a cruise? Actually, I wonder if there is a best time (best month?) for cruising?

It depends on what makes it the "best" time for YOU. Are you looking for hot, tropical weather? Summer is best for that. Are you looking for the lowest rates? Early September and the two weeks leading up to Christmas are the best times for that. Are you looking for the least chance of rain? Don't cruise in spring.

You can take a cruise during any time period of the year. Cruises leave from somewhere almost every day. I think the best time to cruise is any time!

If I had the money, I'd be cruising the rest of my life. We usually go in October-December time frame. Warm weather in the Caribbean, water is still warm, and usually the hurricanes are done. We've done 2 cruises in March/April which were great as well. Like Sandy said, it's whatever you are looking for. Best Wishes!

I agree with Penny. Anytime is a good time to cruise! If you are able, go in the "off season" to avoid the crowds, and get good prices. Other than that, whenever you can is good.

Hi Frase,
you can cruise all the year. In the summer maybe in the Mediterranean (until Oktober), in June/July Northern Europe (Norway) and the Eastern Sea - if you don not want to have hurricans in the Caribbean.
Enjoy the next cruise
