help with post cruise stay in San Deigo

Hi my wife and i are of on the Golden Princess in a week or so (on the Hawaii trip), docking back in L.A. we are going to hire a car and spend a few days in San Deigo before the returning flight. Could anyone recomend a good hotel in the centre $75 - $100 per night

The Kona kai runs lots of specials. We have stayed there for $84, and $99.00. We enjoyed the stay.
BTW the website does not always give you the best deal. If you call up and ask for a deal you might just get one.
If you enjoy Zoo's, San Diego has a great one.
