My husband and I just got back. Find a restaurant called Casa Denis. My husband and I asked several of the locals where they would recommend, and this was the response every time. The cafe is small, and the waiter seemed to be offended at my poor attempt to speak Spanish, but the food is AWESOME! We got there early and had already eaten breakfast, so we didn't eat much. We had 2 beef tacos, 1 shrimp taco, 1 pork taco, an order of fried bananas, and 2 drinks. Our bill was about $10. The beef tacos were on homemade soft tortillas with diced onions and salsa on the side. The shrimp had a creamy sauce, and the pork had pickled onions. The fried bananas were not as sweet as normal bananas, but not as bitter as plantains. We will definitely eat there again if we get back to Cozumel!
