Okay, I have been hesitant to take all of our kids on a cruise with us b/c the ones who are adopted are still working through issues but we have decided to look at it for Aug 2006. We are going April 2006 with only the older ones so it can be more of a family thing but I don't think we can swing $10,000 for Disney.

What would be my best bet for cruise line and room situation.(suite vs. balcony room plus a quad) We need to keep it as economical as possible.

There will be 2 adults and 6 kids ages
3,5,8,11,12,13

With out a doubt, Carnival will be your most economical. Great kids programs, too. But consider Royal Carribean. They rank a close second in value. And the new Freedom will be the finest ship for all family members to enjoy and be together on.

I looked at some info on Freedom but they don't have the suite booking infor listed where you can view it online. Do you remember what that post said about room size??? Will one of those suites hold 8? To be honest I prefer Royal Carribean and I think Nancy said they do have children's programs during excursions. I do not believe that Carnival does.

Royal Caribean's web site has pricing and other info. There will be family staterooms for 8, inside and outside.

I went on the Royal Carribean website but it won't let you see reservations for over four. Am I looking in the wrong place?? I clicked on the Freedom that it shows when you first log on.

I just wanted to say that I am SUPER impressed that you have 6 kids and are taking them all on this great vacation. Kudos to you!

My husband said he tried to book for 5 of us on almost all the cruise lines and Carnival was the only one that would take us without getting multiple rooms.
