We had booked a category sz on the zuiderdam and it now shows room 8077 which is a category ss. We would have been on the 6th level now on the navigation deck which i believe shows 8th level. Only thing i dont like it looks like we are under either the pool or lido restaurant. Any comments would be appreciated. Is it a good upgrade, and what is the different. thanks

You got an upgrade within the same cabin category. The upgrade is a higher deck which would have cost more had you originally booked that deck. The location should be fine. The most you might hear is some scraping of chairs.

We have been in that type of room 3 times. Twice on the Carnival Spirit to the Mexican Riviera. The first time it was fine, but it was also cooler and we had some weather. The next time it was pretty noisy, not from the guest, but from the crew cleaning and rearranging the chair during the ealy morning hour.
On the Hal Zaandam, we weren't in the room, my Aunt was. It was very quiet. This was an Alaskan cruise with cooler weather.
so I think it has to do with weather, and the age of the crowd.
With that said I would and have booked a cabin like that again! We love the location.
