Planning an Alaska cruise for 2006

I have sailed the Zuiderdam in the Caribbean Twice and have enjoyed the experience a great deal. The Zuiderdam will be in Vancouver next summer sailing to Alaska. However, I am considering the Oosterdam out of Seattle. I would appreciate any feedback on those who have sailed the Oosterdam to Alaska this past summer. I will consider and compare this sailing to the RCCL Vision of the Seas to Alaska. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

We loved, loved, loved our cruise on the Oosterdam but it was Sept. 25 - Oct. 18, 2004. Left Seattle, up to Vancouver, then the Mexican Riviera, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama Canal and the Caribbean.
The ship was gorgeous (don't miss the book that explains all of the art aboard), the food delicious, the staff delightful.
People complained about the lack of big-show entertainment and the cruise director drove us nuts with "always" being on the really LOUD speaker............but the cruise was, we felt, fantastic.
The rooms were a much larger size than those we've just had on NCL and the bathrooms were great.........even tubs.

Thank you! As I mentioned, I have sailed the Zuiderdam which is identical to the Oosterdam. I agreed with everything about the ship. I am very interested in the cruise itself. How was the stops in Alaska, What excursions were the best and what to avoid.
