Have never stepped up to a BlackJack Table yet. But even I know not to split 10's. And if the dealer had a 5 showing I would hang tight.

Jim C. and ChucksOK taught me that a long while back

No Casino? I understand Rick's comment about the smoke. I am about to attempt the quitting myself. But I think they should have some non-smoking areas. I ain't giving up my slots too!

To their credit there were two "smoke free" casino nights on Island Princess. It still didn't tempt me but I know a lot of people appreciated it.

Credit where credit is due. There was a casino in Reno called the Ponderosa that went smokeless back in the 1980s. Now it's a residence hotel (translation: flop house). For whatever reason, gambling and smokin' go together like a road kill and the Beverly Hillbillies.

I thought Granny killed all those possums with her big shot gun? I am pretty sure Appalachian-Americans don't eat dead animals they find on the road. JMHO.

Sorry about that. Didn't know I was supposed to stay on 20. I thought you keep splitting until you are assured a losing hand.

I love hoops metaphors...

and carlg....I once saw a dope double down on an Ace/King with an 8 up. Of course, he'd had his share (and everyone else's share) of cocktails while playing.
