Holland America to pull Ryndam From Alaska in 2011.

Add HAL to the list of cruise lines moving ships out of the Alaska market and into Europe. Buried in a press release today was news that the Ryndam will move to Europe in 2011. The ship has been doing Alaskan itineraries from Vancouver to Seward and back for a while.

I think the tally is now 6 fewer ships doing Alaska after next year, with this news, two ships less from Princess, and the other ships from Carnival and RCI.

I will be taking my 4th Cruise to Alaska in 2010...could this be my last cruise there?...Wonder what's going on up there...Is it the State or the cruiselines?...The headtax doesn't help....Happy Cruising somewhere else I guess....

It looks like Alaska, and Vancouver would catch on. You can not tax people and get them to come.
