is there anyone with further information or photos about the Nieuw Amsterdam during the 1960's?
My father joined the crew of the nieuw amsterdam as a patissier in 1967.
Now I'm looking for a nice present for this 60th birthday. I already finished a repro of a beautyful picture of the ship on the Hudson River.
Perhaps you have something special for me?

The "Nieuw Amsterdam" of 1938 is considered one of the most beautiful passenger ships ever built. While I'm sorry that I cannot offer any advice or help to you, I'm sure your father will have fond memories of this grand old lady. Please send him my best wishes!

I'm sure he had an unforgettable voyage on the "grand old lady" because he often tells us stories about his time as "Mike McMondamin" on board of this ship.

If someone is interested in my reproduced picture of the Nieuw Amsterdam with the skyline of the late 1960th Manhattan, please let me know. I could send it as an email in compressed jpeg-format or in tiff-format (~136 MB), e.g. on cd. Size is round about 50x70 cm as tiff.

Perhaps there's another seaman with some space on his wall?!
