we are booked on a cruise to alaska the first week in june. confused about weather, packing. also confused about the room. we are confirmed in a verandah vf room. we have booked four people. (family) will we all fit?

You will all fit - but whether you'll be comfortable or whether all your stuff (clothes etc.) will fit is entirely up to your perception. Lots of people book quad-occupancy cabins and do very well with them.

Weather is variable all season in Alaska; it can be in the 50s or the 70s, raining or sunny. Expect all of the above and pack (light) accordingly. Layers are your best bet. A sweatshirt or sweater, windbreaker, jacket, perhaps a fleece vest, and rain gear will be essential items for everyone. A hat or earband and gloves may come in handy too.

A good friend cruised with HAL in Alaska late July, 2005, and they had weather in the 50s and rain the entire time. She was with 5 other women and was the only one who had packed layers. She did tell me she wished she had had gloves, the one thing she forgot.

HOWEVER!! She loved the cruise, the excursions, and the ship!! You're going to have so much fun!
