Got ChucksOK note, is that a change from HAL's 2004 policy. I had thought Liquor could be purchased on board at that time for consumption.

It's been a very long time since you could buy liquor in the On-Board, duty-free store and they would just hand it to you rather than hold it until the end of the cruise to be delivered to your stateroom. Then HAL joined the rest of the "revenooers" and began "holding" any bottles of liquor brought on board until you disembarked. However, you can order a bottle or two from room service for your own private consumption in your cabin.

Unless security has really changed a lot since last year. I've always smuggled a bottle of Vodka or Rum in my luggage and have never been caught. What happens if they bust you? We bring our own mugs and mixes and have a grand old time.

oreo, there's no limit as far as I can tell. Again, that's wine and champagne only.

FWIW I cruised on HAL (Statendam) ship last summer and smuggled in a bottle of Jack Daniels and consumed it duing the cruise. I drank the contents in the cabin, as well as on deck. How? Easy, I obtained one of their bar glasses (Alaskan Amber beer, 12oz)and refilled it as needed. Steward provided ice and fruit. Probably saved over $100 in bar tabs!
