WARNING-----DO NOT CRUISE ON HOLLAND AMERICA'S RYNDAM. I have turned this ship over to the CDC for investigation. This ship has serious water/waste water problems.

The Ryndam was last inspected by the CDC on July 9, 2006. It received a passing score of 94. A score of 86 or higher is satisfactory.

Tell that to the many who have gotten sick on the Ryndam recently.

I don't know where you get your information but I just got off the Ryndam on July 2nd., 2006 and we had feces in our bathwater and 7 out of 8 in our party fell ill. There were many many more people that we talked to that had problems flusing their toliets and had fecus laden water on their bathroom floors. Maybe this is not part of the sanation inspection standards. The Ryndam has serious water/seweage problems and they may be able to hid or cover up the problems with the investigators.

Check out Kim Elhatton mini review from a May, 2006 Alaska cruise on the Ryndam also. She had same problems with the passing score of 94. Evidently fecus in water is an o.k. health threat.

This is great, Im scheduled to leave with my mother and my cousin on a cruise on 8-27 on the Ryndam. I want more info on this and I have left a message with my travel agent. Im not as excited now. We had a great time on the Oosterdam.

Greyson, I do hope the broken pipe was the problem, however, I doubt it. If that is the case, then it has been broken since 1994! Yes, that is how far back these problems have plagued the Ryndam. I truly want you to have a great cruise, as I LOVE cruises! Just be sure and use the Purell hand cleaner everytime you pass a station. Do not drink ANY water (including in the dining room water) except bottled water. Be extremely careful when you take a shower or bath that you do not get any water in your mouth. Also, research has shown that the lower the deck cabin, the more severe the problem. One gentleman that was in an 800 numbered cabin actually had poop in his bath water!!!! Needless to say, his travel mates DID get very sick!! Also, be very aware of the pool and/or hot tubs. The same safety awareness applies. Have a wonderful cruise, but please be VERY aware of any water!!!

We had no problems on the Ryndam 8-27 through 9-3. No sewage problems and the staff were great in helping my mom who is in a wheelchair. No one was sick and I had a very good time. I would sail the Ryndam again without hesitation. The food was excellent as well.

Also, drank the water on the Lido deck and in the dining room. Also used the jacuzzi and pool. NO PROBLEMS!
