Room service gratuities
 

We plan on having some of our meals in the room and I was wondering about the tip protocol on board. If we are being charged a gratuity of $10/day each, is an individual tip in this case also expected?

Room Service people are usually not included in the tips that are automatically added to your account, but HALs policy (click on Money Matters and then Hotel Service Charge) seems to indicate that they do include them. Still, I recommend tipping $2 to $5 per delivery, depending on the size of the order. $2 for coffee and rolls for example, but $5 if ordering a tray full of things like a sandwich order for two with desserts and beverages.

We had coffee delivered every morning. I had a stack of singles on the desk waiting - we tipped $2.00 for our coffee.
