Well, we're taking the bull by the horns here and have signed up for our first cruise. Nuttin' timid here as we're going for a 21 day repo leaving Seattle, going thru the Panama Canal, then on to Ft. Lauderdale.

Since we're new at this I do appreciate all the nuggets of information written here on the blog. It will take me a while to digest it all and you can bet I'll be reading every entry.

I have one question to the group:

What did you learn on your first cruise that would have helped if you knew it before you boarded?

Thanks in advance for your comments.......can't wait for September!!

That is one heck of a first cruise! You really jumped in with both feet. You will have an absolutely wonderful time. I've done the same cruise in reverse twice (but only as far as L.A.) and on Princess, not Holland America. But I've been on HAL and I can't say enough good things about them.

If there is one thing I could tell a first time cruiser, it would be to relax and not worry about a thing; everything will be taken care of for you. There will be a crew of close to a thousand people who want nothing more than for you to have a seamless, effortless, and perfect vacation. All the worry beforehand about, "should I take this; should I do that; what about this or that; what if . . .? is all wasted energy. All you have to do is show up.

Fantastic First Cruise- 'Way To Go!!!- Diet in advance of the sailing 'cause you will quickly make it up - bring some disposable rain ponchos for just in case, make sure you have enough prescription meds with you, remember the credit cards, and all your tickets, bring some sea bands and ginger pills for seasickness (just in case)(munch on green apples too for the same reason-they'll have 'em!)and...................................RELAX!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to Cruise-Chat.com!!!!

Bon Voyage!
