Hello.

We just booked a 16 day repositioning from Rome to Fort Lauderdale October 2010 aboard the Noordam Can any of the experienced cruisers who made a similar trip provide some info on what to expect weather wise, especially the Atlantic crossing

Thanks

Hi npsh, welcome to Cruise-Chat. Congratulations on your up-coming cruise! Sounds fantastic! The ocean can be as smooth as glass or can turn very fickle. It's impossible to predict. The captain will do everything in his power to make the crossing as nice as possible. The Oasis hit 60' seas crossing, but normally seas are 3'-6'. A storm can blow up and change the face of the ocean quickly. If you are worried about sea sickness, visit your doctor before you leave. There is a myriad of products available to alleviate motion sickness. The natural products are ginger and green apples. They sell Bonine over the counter. There are patches, wrist bands, etc., available by prescription. Best wishes for a fantastic, smooth cruise!
