Hello everyone... Going on Panama canal cruise on Nov.07, want to know if any of the master cruisers been. It is our first I've read what's available about Puerto Limon' but theres not enough info.Heres what I'd like to know:
1). Tours(City?, Mountains?, etc.)
2). Shopping
3). Transfortations

Hi Grazie, welcome to cruise-chat. It might help getting more responses if you move this question to either Port Chat or Caribbean Port Chat. I'm kind of surprised the moderators didn't do that for you. I wish I could help, but I haven't done the Panama Canal itinerary. Hope you have a wonderful cruise!!

Just cruised April 07 10 day panama canal partial transit on the Volendam.
There is little shopping at this port.Recommend you Attend the seminars provided by the cruise director, who will inform you of the best places to shop at each port.
If age isnt a factor and mobile.
Go to the Rain forest or kayak down the river. We are into experiencing nature. We did the The Rain Forest Canopy Adventureexcursion to zip line through the rain forest. Like Tarzan and Jane. It was beautiful! This is a must. We are 50 and 51. Met a young couple age 25 who did the Sloth and Canoe adventure. They said it was specatular. DO KEEP IN MIND. The time of year you are going is the rainy season. recommend you look up the weather in Panama for the time of year you are going to best taylor you outings.
Transportation provided via excursions recommended.NOT RECOMMENDED to seek own transportation. More isolated, must travel in to town. So not readily available as in other ports.
Tip - In Aruba when we arrived it was Sunday.
THE STORES WERE CLOSED!!! However, the cruise line has certain agreements with specific stores which were open, not many though.This was disappointing. Great place to buy diamonds,jewelry and watches!
