This is the shortest lead time I've ever done, but we're (hopefully) off to the Sea of Cortez for 10 days in February on the Zaandam. I'm so ready, and it's great not having to wait three years between cruises...
This is a cruise we have been wanting to do!! They don't offer it enough. So far the times it is offered don't match our time off.
We love the Zaandamn also!
Have a great time and will be looking forward to hearing about your cruise.
It was a little more than I would have wanted to spend, but it's during "whale season" . . so we're both really excited. Our options are few living on the west coast - so it's nice to see something other than just the Mexican Riviera; even thought it's included in this trip. I love the smaller HAL ships. Our last two cruises were on the Zuiderdam and her sister Noordam. Both great ships giving the excellant HAL experience, but there's something special about the smaller, more intimate ships.
We were on the Volendam. Same ship design. Had cabin I-7086. It is listed as an inside cabin, but is larger than most, and has a window. Plus it being at the aft of the ship, it is very close to an outside deck, that is seldom used. We loved the location.
I 7083 has the same layout, but has an outside stairway by the window.
I just checked the Hal site, the layout is the same, and it is listed as an inside cabin. However if you look closely you will see it does show an open area in the cabin where the window is.
A couple images looking out of the windown on our Alaskan Cruise
Gary - I wanted to book one of those I category cabins, but even though they are listed as I category, they are priced as an outside cabin .... I didn't want to spend the extra $$. This is an expensive cruise. I've been looking around and can't see a lower price anywhere. But, we're excited - it's whale season, so we're hoping to see lots of whales.
