I need to find out about a mug that I just purchased at a yardsale. It says something in German, and I can't read the writing clearly but maybe someone can help. It looks like it said Dir und mir (something like that). It has the picture of an indian-type looking bird and say Binding Bier on it. Can anyone help. The mug is about 3-4" tall. My hubby collects mugs and I couldn't pass it up. Thanks in advance.

I have no way to do it because the computer I use is my work computer and we can't download anything or send pictures from it. Im sorry. It is a ceramic mug about 4" tall. I can look to see if I can find one online if that would help.
I did find out that Dir und Mir means you and me in English. Sure would like to find the history of the mug though. Thanks for your help Raoul, I knew you would come through for me. Hope all is well in Germany.
on the mug in the picture it says (if I read it correctly) "100 Jahre Binding Bier" which means "100 years of Binding Beer". As the Binding Brewery was established in 1870 according to the German Wikipedia (the year 1870 is also mentioned on the glass mug photo), I suppose the mug was issued in 1970.
Hi,
I`m german and I just thought I could help. But as I see, you already know what it means. "Dir und mir" means "you and me" or "yours and mine". Binding Bier (beer) ist a brewery in Germany. It`s not a very famous sort of beer but I heard of it before. Just try to google it and try to find their homepage (german ending ... .de).
Hope this helps,
greets from Germany
