I've had TIVO on DirecTV for a few years now, and I've come to realize that my attention is not as sharp as it used to be. Somehow, subconciously, I think it's okay if I don't pay attention and let distractions take-over because I can always hit rewind.

I discovered this problem when driving my car listening to the radio. I focus my attention on a traffic maneuver, then reach for the rewind button. Wait. I don't have TIVO on my car radio. But I do this time and time again. Well, at least I CAN focus on what's important: driving!

It gets worse though. At home I'm always multi-tasking. I let my mind wander, hit rewind, wander off again, rewind again, sometimes three or four times until I make myself focus.

I already have CRS (can't remember S#*T). I've got to come up with a term for this TIVO thing.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Besides pre-mature balding I guess the effects of Manopause haven't affected me much yet.( knock on imatation wood)

Now that you mention it SuzyCruise, I do have a slight problem. It's when my wife starts talking and my mind drifts off to more important things. Instead of hitting the rewind button, I just say: What did you say dear?

But Sonny, that's when we can really mess with you! We know you aren't paying attention to us. That's when we can tell you that you promised us something and you'll never know if you did or not because you weren't listening to us in the first place.

This is why cell phones have recorders. Besides, when you mention something that cost money, you have our undivided attention!

What does TIVO stand for?

Oh, darn! We'll just have to find another way to trick you.

Bruce, good idea. Regarding TIVO, I know what it is, but I don't know what it stands for. I have a DVR instead of a TIVO at home.
