It works equally well ashore except you have to compensate for the lack of nautical atmosphere. Wearing a cruise t-shirt and drinking from a souvenir glass helps.
Thanks Sevin, Rains and snow have set back in. A friend of mine just went there and it is a winter wonder land again.
I took this Half Dome shot last year, but this is what it looks like a now.
I love the weather, where we live we get just the right mixture. I really feel for those in the harsh areas.

The snow is beautiful if you don't have to move it. I was feeling warm inside thinknig about Dave's Ribeye and Rum, but this makes me want a Hot Chocolate with peppermint schnapps.

Geez Penny, I heard this am that you folks would see some flakes before the day was over. For us in the NE, it is also unusual this year. I am looking at grass everywhere and temps in the 40's rest of week during the daytime.
Darn Dave does that mean I can't have the Run and Ribeyes now ?
Both Saturday and Sunday began in the 20s. Saturday climbed to the 50s. I spread a truck load of mulch and went back to get a truck load of top soil. Came back and began spreading the soil. Sunday was in the 60s, so I continued unloading and spreading the soil. Today it feels like it's in the upper 60s lower 70s. I'm waiting for the other shoe to fall. I know it's teasing us and we'll get some more hard freezes. It will probably wait until everything starts blooming.
We also had a very nice weekend. In the 50s both days, and supposed to be in the 50s the next couple days. However, then it's back to the 40s and raining.
This rough winter that we've had is making me think about planning a cruise, but again, probably not until the fall!
