I swear they say that every year. I pray it never comes true! I know hurricanes are supposed to be useful, but all I know is that they create heartache.
I hope it's not an active tropics season. I guess I can't be too concerned though, since cruise lines will divert to avoid it for safety if there are any that are in the path of an itinerary.

They don't know what the heck they are talking about most times. I've been re-routed a few times on cruises. Those have turned out to be the best cruises. I doubt the people that parked their cars at the Galveston port a few years ago feel the same though. I hope it is smooth sailing for all of us.
I was on Carnival Glory in November during IDA and even though we weren't directly in the Hurricane we did excpeience some rough water and it prevented a couple of our performers from getting to the ship for their show nights. Also, made walking about on the ship a bit challenging. But, I must say the staff did an excellent job filling in for the MIA performers. Also, during the morning talk show the cruise director did, they had a Trivia question on what was the name of the hurricane causing all the comotion and I called in with the answer "We can give all the "GLORY" to Hurricane Ida" A little play on words there that didn't get past the cruise director and won a bottle of champaigne that I had the pleasure of sharing with my table mates the last night of the cruise!!
I just read that Heathrow had to cancel flights due to the ash from the volcano in Iceland. I assume that Svein had some of the ash hit his area, too. Sure hope all is ok!
I actually heard that on the radio this morning going to work. They were originally saying that flights would resume tomorrow, but now it seems as if that is no guarantee.
