Jim,

I guess this is the equal to freighter cruising for months at a time, but with the shorter Great Lakes schedule. Not my cup of tea to do one of those long ocean freighter cruises, but I might consider something that was 5 days "more or less" just to experience how it is for the crew on a "laker". I wonder if they have internet?

Jim, not sure what would be worse, the motion of the ocean on that barge, or the ear bleeds I would get from the crew singing karaoke.

Well, first of all it's not a barge.

Second of all it's not on the ocean, but on the great lakes, even though the motion can be tought enough there as well.

When it comes to the karaoke singing I'll - after 12 years at sea also on cargo ships - support you on that.

Now it's stuck in my head dr. Gordon Lightfoot had so many great songs but it seems all he is known for is the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

If I win the trip, I'll sail on that ship
I'll go without hesitation.
I will remember my friends from Cruise-Chat
when I take my 5 day vacation

Where ever it sails, whatever the ports,
it will be a trip to remember.
