Just over 3 weeks until the start of the 2009 Nascar season, can't wait! Hope to see Matt Kenseth in the Dewalt 17 has a better year. Anyone else into Nascar? Drivers you are pulling for?

Not so much anymore. I preferred it in the Petty/Allison/Pearson days. It has gotten too homogenized for my tastes, running what is essentially a spec racer.
NASCAR is great and it is a great series, but there is nothing like open wheel Formula racing. The skills and endurance to drive at such excessive speeds takes so much talent. That includes, F-1, IRL, Indy Lights. They are truly precision racing machines.
After 24 hours of running, to finish less than a second apart is amazing to me. The winner was even down a couple of laps at one time. I didn't watch the entire 24 hours. I saw the Ferrari go out and a few of the off track excursions, then turned it back on yesterday around 1. I was glued from then on.
A friend of mine from Decatur used to go to the 24 with some others. They'd stay in a nearby motel and come and go from the race so they could sleep and eat. This was back in the 80's and the tickets allowed them pit entry. Probably not so anymore.
Not sure about Daytona, but the other tracks we've been to, all series except for NASCAR allowed pit passes. Ron went to the MotoGP in Indy this year, and they were not selling pit passes. We were able to get into the pits at the CHAMP car races in Denver a few years back, the AMA races in Vegas a few years back, and every event at PPIR except NASCAR.
